Aging Beautifully
When developing a custom finish for an object, such as a lamp base, Stephanie looks to the Monahan Botanicals palette of paints from Caromal Colours. “I like having one of each near my desk to reference color while I work,” she says. “I use it for decorative painting like other people would use oil paint or watercolors.” To give freshly coated wares a warm patina, Stephanie suggests rubbing them with a soft cloth dipped in toner from her line. She imparts a sense of history by lightly sanding areas that would begin to show wear over time.
