Five Creative Tips from Artisan Stephanie Monahan

Making Room for Creativity
Artistic endeavors require both physical and mental space, Stephanie advises. With nearly two thousand square feet, her studio affords areas for planning, crafting, and manufacturing. Spacious yet homey, the atelier was rebuilt using wood salvaged from the property’s former carriage house. The ambience of this retreat—papered with French botanical prints and furnished with vintage finds—encourages creativity to flow freely. “I don’t dedicate specific times to designing our line,” says Stephanie. “Product ideas just come to me.” Having a workshop so close to home allows her to escape to its cozy environs whenever inspiration strikes.
