Dunrobin interiorsAs one of the oldest continually inhabited houses in Great Britain, the currently configured structure incorporates the earliest portion of the castle: a rectangular keep dating to at least the fourteenth century. Later additions bear the imprints of noted architect Sir Charles Barry, whose projects include London’s Houses of Parliament, and Scotland’s native son, Sir Robert Lorimer, who spearheaded the restoration and modification of the estate after a fire in 1915.
