Crown Jewels of the Buckingham Palace Garden

Crown Jewels of the GardenFloral aficionados dare not miss aromatic offerings from The Rose Garden, seasonal blooms grown in the wildflower meadow, and a glimpse of the ‘Muscadet’ Oriental lily, known to attract colorful fluttering wings, shown above left. Mulberry bushes, planted here by James I in 1608 to rear silkworms, failed to develop; the garden now hosts forty-five mulberry types and eighty-five species of oak trees. New plantings introduced annually by Head Gardner Mark Lane ensure the renewal of this historic landscape.
