Crown Jewels of the GardenFirst taking shape as a formal, tree-lined green space created by the Duke of Buckingham in the eighteenth century, The Main Lawn of the Buckingham Palace Garden later served as Her Majesty’s private grounds and hosted more than 24,000 guests each year. A nod to the quintessential English garden, the Herbaceous Border comprises many of the habitat’s 325 wild plant species and is marked by two London plane trees named for Queen Victoria and Prince Albert.
