Traquair House: A Lasting Legacy

Traquair House: A Lasting LegacyLocated at the rear of the main house, The Maze stands on the site of the original eighteenth-century parterre garden. This botanical labyrinth first comprised 1,500 Leyland cypresses, but when the majority of these were lost during the particularly brutal winter of 1983, hardy beech trees were planted in their stead. The maze not only hosts an annual Easter egg hunt, but it has also been the scene of numerous weddings, film productions, and one very romantic proposal, complete with fireworks.
