Regarded as the “Riviera in the Highlands” during the Roaring Twenties, the verdant playground of Gleneagles is set amidst Scotland’s scenic Perthshire region. Over the last century, the esteemed hotel has not only entertained those seeking gracious retreat but also served as a military hospital during the dark interlude of the Second World War. By the mid-1950s, however, the luxurious resort rediscovered its glamorous rhythm, enticing French fashion designer Christian Dior to showcase a collection in the grand ballroom, and future years saw both renovations and expansions, including the opening of Gleneagles Townhouse, a posh haven in the heart of Edinburgh.
