As invigorating as an autumnal wind, the scarf is lauded for its enduring appeal and robust range of uses. To welcome this coming cooler season, we present a medley of ensembles utilizing the iconic accessory with as much variety as the changing leaves. Empress Joséphine was known to collect cashmere shawls brought to her from Egypt by her husband, Napoléon Bonaparte. This wool version of the vestment by David Jeffery, above right, gives nod to September’s hues with shades of red and orange. Above left: A wispy black-and-white piece from the coveted brand Coach provides an easy accent on the wrist.
