
When Eliza died in 1838, Margaret sold the house to Sarah Anderson, a widow whose own home, Dunlawton Plantation, had been burned down during the Seminole Wars. Louise Fatio was hired to run the household, and later, when Sarah decided to move to Tallahassee, Louise purchased the three-story abode for herself. She quickly returned the home to its boarding-house status, thus beginning her own chapter in the dwelling’s history.
