The resplendent mansion they purchased was regarded as the island’s premier residence and former home of the last hereditary governors. But it wasn’t supposed to be a restoration project. Geraldine explains that her idea was to replace some amenities and implement period-appropriate features, aiming to respect the era during which the circa 1779 house was built, but they soon discovered it was not just cosmetic changes that were needed.
