ADMONT ABBEY LIBRARY—Admont, Austria
Octogenarian artist Bartolomeo Altomonte painted the seven magnificent frescoes on the ceiling of the Admont Abbey Library, an amazing accomplishment that depicts the stages of human knowledge. Constructed in the late 1700s by Josef Hueber, a master builder dedicated to the principles of the Age of Enlightenment, this atheneum is the largest monastery library in the world.
