Deep in the heart of Wales, Powis Castle and Garden presides in peaceful grandeur, drawing guests to tour the tiered landscape and to admire the red-stone fortress that showcases rare treasures, such as an unparalleled collection of artifacts from India, displayed in an adjacent museum. The exquisite Italianate garden—sheltered by clipped yew trees—blooms year-round with native and exotic plants.

Although I would prefer a modest cottage in the Cotswolds over a large castle or Manor house, I must admit there is an aspect of this grandeur that is both exciting and awe-inspiring. The sheer size and well thought out plans for each and every need to be met is really a feat deserving of our applause !
The beautiful interiors with the luxurious woods, fabrics, and paintings are simply breathtaking. No one does this quite like the English and much of this is in evidence with the gardens alone. Spectacular !
God bless !
