Oriza flourished in the following years, winning numerous accolades, notably the Grand Prix Award at the Paris World’s Fair in 1900. Though the shop eventually closed its doors in 1940, passionate perfumiers Franck Belaiche-Bonniot and Hugo Lambert revived the label in 2012, vowing to restore its prominent place in the fragrance realm. The pair did extensive research to revive the most revered fragrances from Oriza’s illustrious past, subtly tweaking the scents to appeal to au courant tastes. Among these treasures are Rêve d’Ossian, pictured above left, which features notes of sandalwood, pine, and frankincense kissed with balsam and leather, and Muguet Fleuri, above right, which blends ten notes, including oakmoss and lily of the valley.
