The Essence of Tradition: Paris Perfumery Oriza L. Legrand

One bottle of perfume is packaged in a lovely pink box with bright green ribbon tied into an effortlessly elegant bow.Fargeon Aîné served as perfumer and distiller to the Court of Louis XV. The potions he created under the name Maison Oriza remained a favorite of royalty for several centuries, delighting everyone from Marie Antoinette to Empress Josephine and even her husband, Napoleon Bonaparte. Louis Legrand took over in 1811, opening Parfumerie Oriza on Rue Saint-Honoré, and a half-century later, passed the reins to his partner, Antonin Raynaud, who set up the first steam-powered perfume factory and cemented the House of Oriza L. Legrand’s position in history.
