Midwinter Musings from Jenny Bohannon

A row of napkins add look lovely atop a lace-edged tablecloth. It is here in the “in-between,” where old meets new, that we most often find the magic happen, so my Tablescape Tip & Toast for this issue is to make your grandmother proud and lovingly take out those family heirlooms of vintage china, silver, and crystal. Paired with newer elements, such as linens and flatware, beloved heirloom pieces can take on a life of their own—one most perfectly suited to modern living. So, here’s a toast to our grandmothers for knowing a thing or two about entertaining beautifully and from the heart long before we realized how much we had to learn.
