A festively decorated tree stands amid the venerable stone buildings of Place Royale, a public plaza and urban area with origins that reach back to the early 1600s, when explorer Samuel de Champlain founded a settlement here. Its location in Lower Town draws visitors and townsfolk alike to shop and dine in this history-steeped setting.

We spent Christmas there in the old town in 2012. It was fantastic. When we’re not able to go to Europe, Quebec City will hold us over! 😉 Love that you featured it!
Such a lovely old city…I always enjoy my visits there.
