King John’s Castle
Also called Carlingford Castle to distinguish it from the eponymous fortress in Limerick, this ancient fortress was built in 1190 as a Norman defense to northeast Ireland. Rising above the shores of Carlingford Lough, the ruins still whisper tales of times long ago, stories that echo down ages-old cobblestone paths and find their way to those seeking a glimpse of Ireland’s mystic wonder.
