Coastal Charm: England’s Seaside Villages

Rye

“A little bit of the old world living on in pleasant ignorance of the new” is Victorian poet Coventry Patmore’s description of Rye, a town still vital with its rich collection of maritime memories. Crowning the community with its massive buttresses is the Parish Church of St. Mary the Virgin. Its peaceful ancient churchyard provides a shady spot for contemplation and enjoying glorious views of the River Rother and Romney Marsh.
