The inside of the castle is far from the typical drafty quarters of yore. One hundred thirty crystal chandeliers shower light upon opulent interiors, where richly hued carpets cushion footfall, and eyes are drawn up to ornately carved oak ceilings. This hallway wrapped in wood paneling opens to the Connaught Room, where floor-to-ceiling windows allow expansive views to the gardens and Lough Corrib beyond.
