Guests of the inn gather for breakfast in this lovely room, filled with heirloom pieces, such as an ornately carved cabinet created by Breton carpenter Quimbereau and the fire shield bearing the family coat of arms, which was made for Louis de Farcy. The walls are covered in a pretty fabric that echoes the fanciful trim of the cabinet, and the table is set with Johnson Brothers dinnerware. Count Jacques de Farcy and Countess Kay de Farcy, along with their daughter, Emilia, her husband, Allard, and their children, Theodore and Victoria, are the current keepers of Château de la Villedubois’s legacy, which includes an interesting tie to the American Revolution, via a hereditary seat in The Society of Cincinnati, America’s oldest patriotic organization.
