Today, Christmas lovers delight in discovering these ornaments, often made in the mid-twentieth century by Shiny Brite, at antiques shops and flea markets. Many of the pieces in our vignettes are by this beloved manufacturer—identified most easily by their textured silver cap and colorful patterns. They remind collectors of their childhood, of a simpler and more innocent time, and of the Yuletide spirit embodied in these fragile and vibrant globes.
