Guests scarcely visit the gardens without remarking on the stately trees. Saplings planted in the inaugural years remain, grown to maturity with far-reaching branches and thick trunks. In the warmer months, they are accentuated with sprawling green lawns and flower beds planted with vivid blossoms. The Christchurch Botanic Gardens are alive with floral pageantry, inviting sojourners to a place known by its apt moniker, The Garden City.
