Since its colonial origins, The City of Brotherly Love has been recognized as one of the nation’s foremost candy producers. Brothers Eric and Ryan Berley co-own Philadelphia’s longstanding Shane Confectionery.
Amidst the original hand-carved wooden display cases and Chippendale-style cabinetry, gleaming silver trays offer a tempting array of classic sweets, such as nonpareils, lollipops, and assorted caramels. Behind the retail space–decorated in a blue palette reminiscent of nearby Independence Hall–copper pots bubble with molten chocolate, infusing the fanciful workshop with the decadent aroma of freshly dipped bonbons.

I remember when this story was first published by Victoria a few years ago and it really left an impression on me ! I not only love chocolate and sweets, but really love the old-fashioned candy stores which are basically gone for good.
Seeing the interior of this shop and all the wonderful handmade items reminds me of craftsmanship, passion, and creativity ! Did I mention how utterly delicious every item looks? As much as I wish I was nearer to this store, it’s probably a good thing that it’s not. !! LOL
God bless !

I’m planning a trip to Philadelphia this summer. I will certainly visit this store and buy some candies.
