Then a call came from the granddaughter of her first client. “She was getting married and wanted me to make her dress,” Patti recalls. The entrepreneur decided to launch her own studio. Word of the new venture spread quickly, and orders started pouring in from other soon-to-be brides. Now, her creations take shape in a light, airy space nestled in Dallas’s Uptown neighborhood. Patti devised the color of the interior walls to complement her customers. “It has an apricot-blush undertone that gives them a pretty glow,” she says.
