For a warm and fragrant beverage, prepare Hibiscus-Ginger Tea, an infusion that owes its ruby hue to the calyxes of the showy flower.

Hibiscus-Ginger Tea
 
Makes 2 to 3 servings
Ingredients
  • 3 tablespoons very loosely packed organic hibiscus calyces
  • ¼ teaspoon freshly grated ginger
  • 3 lemon slices
  • 2 cups boiling water
  • Honey, to serve
  • Lemon slices, to serve
Instructions
  1. In a heatproof pitcher or carafe, combine hibiscus calyces, ginger, and lemon slices. Pour 2 cups boiling water over mixture, cover, and let steep for 5 to 10 minutes. Strain tea into desired serving mugs or cups; serve immediately with honey and lemon slices.
