French influence abounds within the walls of our primary bedroom, perhaps more than anywhere else in our home. This is a space that my husband has always graciously agreed should reflect my feminine aesthetic. Bed curtains can be prohibitively expensive and, not being quite ready to commit, we have opted to use a vintage Aubusson rug, which will always have a place in our home, as a bed canopy. The dark wood of an antique French dressing table grounds the softness of the bed linens, while an antique eighteenth-century crewelwork pillow brings another moment of patina.
