We have sought to subtly continue this original Gallic influence, incorporating French antiques and art throughout our interiors. These pieces have served to soften the more austere English elements that are traditionally quite prominent in old Virginia homes, bringing that “just so” aesthetic. A lovely antique French chest sits in our front entry hall and houses all manner of linens—close at hand for use in the adjacent dining room. This piece is softened by a vintage reproduction Louis XVI chair, which is one of a set of eight that graces our dining room.
