
The museum contains artifacts from the famous family that inhabited the modest Georgian home for fourty-one years, even after obtaining fame through their writing. “My home is humble and unattractive to strangers,” Charlotte once wrote, “but to me it contains what I shall find nowhere else in the world—[the] profound, and intense affection which brothers and sisters feel for each other when their minds are cast in the same mould, their ideas drawn from the same source.” The abode boasts a vast treasury of “Brontëana,” including manuscripts, furnishings, and keepsakes that chronicle the fascinating stories of a gifted trio who penned some of the most beloved volumes in the English language.
