Above: Linda rescued the 1920s table, originally created by a New Orleans woodworker, from a friend’s veranda in 1979. The refinished piece served as the Porches’ breakfast table for many years but now displays special keepsakes, including a French lace and mother-of-pearl tasseled fan, weathered books, and framed photographs.
