From a young age, the designer’s creative family and her mother’s eye for beauty began to shape her own style. “I was very fortunate—my mom had great taste,” she recalls. Before long, others started to notice the young girl’s skill as well. In her early teenage years, Mallory completely redecorated the bookshelves of a home in which she was babysitting. When the homeowner returned that evening, she was delighted with the results and still jokes that she was Mallory’s first client.
