An Afternoon with Lady Carnarvon of Highclere Castle

Lady Carnarvon walks a dog on the grounds of Highclere CastleSpeaking of Highclere Castle, Lady Carnarvon says, “We don’t own it; we steward and share it.” Part of her mission is preserving the historic property’s bounty and beauty. Contributions to the natural capital include reviving gardens lost after World Wars I and II and offering exclusive products, from His Lordship’s chutneys and jams to Highclere Castle Gin. A consummate host, the countess welcomes guests to experience the castle and grounds firsthand, presenting a range of tours and special events throughout the year. “I love sharing that link of time and place,” she says.
