The Tapestry Room, is the grandest of the hotel’s public sanctums and features deep sofas, ancestral portraits, a cozy fireplace, and piles of books and board games for whiling away an afternoon spent indoors. Signature striped carpet leads guests across the spectacular second-floor landing into the Stuart Room, below, a theatrically ornate private-dining venue.
Afternoon tea is served throughout the premises in grand salons and drawing rooms, as well as in a diminutive Gothic teahouse nestled in the gardens. Dinner reservations are highly sought after in the hotel’s chic restaurant, Rhubarb, which serves innovative farm-to-table cuisine in a pair of elaborately decorated Regency-style dining rooms. The dramatically stunning interiors and superb level of service at Prestonfield contribute to an unforgettable experience for all who visit this charmingly eclectic boutique hotel.
