Monday, September 8

Arrive in Paris and settle into Le Grand Mazarin, a five-star auberge located in the heart of Le Marais, one of the City of Light’s most charming neighborhoods. Enjoy a welcome reception at the hotel so you can meet Victoria editors and your fellow travelers. After this gathering, you are free to explore the city at your leisure.

Tuesday, September 9

After breakfast, set out for our first full day in the City of Light. We will divide into two groups for tours led by textile artist and expert Rebecca Devaney. Among our stops in the bustling neighborhood of Le Sentier—known as a textile and garment district—visit the oldest haberdashery in Paris, a shop brimming with hand-painted tapestries, a showroom of exquisite ribbons and fabric, and a silk thread boutique normally open only to industry professionals. Reuniting at The Ritz Paris, our coterie will gather in the Salon de Gramont to savor Pastry Chef François Parret’s Thé a la Française. This lovely teatime includes tea, coffee, or hot chocolate, served alongside a selection of traditional petit-fours and other seasonal biscuits. Toast to our day of bliss with a glass of Champage Barons de Rothschild Réserve Ritz or a “French bloom” non-alcoholic sparkling wine.

Wednesday, September 10

After breakfast, embark on a day devoted to the exquisite flavors of Gallic fare. Walk to La Cuisine Paris, an English-speaking culinary school overlooking the Seine. The adventure begins with a guided shopping excursion, where we will select a vibrant bounty of market-fresh ingredients. Returning to the kitchen, we will be led by a chef in a hands-on cooking class—preparing a seasonal menu that we will savor together for lunch. When we return to Le Grand Mazarin, you are free to enjoy the rest of the day at your leisure.

Thursday, September 11

After breakfast, we will divide into two groups for a tour of Notre-Dame de Paris. Led by Claudine Hemingway, a knowledgeable author and historian, explore the renovated interiors of this medieval cathedral, first built in the twelfth century and recently restored after the iconic church was nearly destroyed by fire in 2019. Our schedule begins with sunlight filtering through stained glass windows and ends with rays dancing across the water during a Champagne river cruise, where our entire group will watch the sun set over the Seine.

Friday, September 12

After breakfast, depart via private coach for an excursion to Château de Vaux-le-Vicomte, nestled in the village of Maincy, near Melun. At this magnificent property—actually the largest private estate recognized as a historical monument in all of France—explore centuries of history. Wonder begins with the formal gardens, a jardin à la française that inspired the landscape design of Versailles, and the awe continues with a tour of the Baroque French château, built between 1656 and 1661 for Nicolas Fouquet, who was the keeper of finances for King Louis XIV. Sipping wine and coffee within the sumptuous environs of a seventeenth-century room, our group will enjoy an exclusive three-course lunch at the château.

Saturday, September 13

After breakfast, set out for a day of treasure hunting alongside art dealer Hana Wilson of French Art Shop, as she introduces us to one of her secret sources, a private warehouse south of Paris that is usually reserved for design professionals and movie producers. During this exclusive visit, we will explore a vast array of antiques. Following a group lunch, visit one of the largest wholesale flower markets in the world. As the conclusion to our week of bliss, gather around the table for our closing dinner at Chez Julien, an upscale bistro known for its “brasserie chic.”

Sunday, September 14

Depart for home with a heart brimming with memories and a suitcase full of collected treasures.

Fall in Paris, 2025 Retreat
What airport do I fly into?

There are daily flights from the US to Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG). Upon arrival at CDG, we recommend taking a taxi from the official taxi stand to Le Grand Mazarin. If you’d prefer to book a car service, the hotel can do that on your behalf.

Can I extend my stay at the hotels?

If you’d like to inquire about additional nights in Paris, email victoriaevents@hoffmanmedia.com. Some guests like to book a room for the night before their arrival, so it is ready after all-night flights from the US. We can make requests for early check-ins but cannot guarantee your room will be ready before the official hotel check-in time.

Is breakfast included?

Daily breakfast is included.

Are children able to attend this retreat?

All participants must be 18 years old or older to attend this retreat.

What should I plan to wear during retreat events?

We suggest smart casual attire with comfortable walking shoes for most excursions, with dressy attire more fitting for select events. Retreat attendees will receive a complete itinerary that includes day-by-day guidance on apparel. Typical weather for early April in Paris includes mild temperatures, with highs in the mid 60s and lows in the mid 40s. Activities will proceed rain or shine.

If I book a double-occupancy package, will the hotel room have two beds?

Due to the uniqueness and European charm of the hotels, double-occupancy rooms do not have two beds. If you are traveling with a friend or adult child, you can request two sets of linens on one bed.

Will we have any free time?

You will have some free time in Paris to explore on your own. We will equip you with our list of favorite restaurants, shops, and activities.

To reserve your space, email victoriaevents@hoffmanmedia.com. You will be required to pay your deposit within 48 hours and sign a travel waiver and acknowledgement of cancellation policy via AdobeSign. Reservations will be taken in the order in which we receive emails.
