Though she had no formal training in the field, Susie began designing clothes while in her twenties. That first foray soon evolved into interior and architectural design, where she was on the cutting edge of developing the large, live-in kitchens that are so desirable today. The dearth of casual dinnerware in the marketplace at the time was the mother of invention for her first pottery collection, which opened the door to the world of homewares.
