Instructions
In a medium saucepan, combine apple cider, 2 cups water, maple syrup, apple slices, lemon slices, cardamom, cloves, allspice, star anise, and cinnamon stick. Cook over medium heat until simmering; cover and reduce heat to low.
Gently simmer for 20 minutes. Strain cider through a fine-mesh sieve, discarding fruit and spices.
Serve warm and garnish with cinnamon sticks, star anise pods, and apple slices, if desired.
