Chocolate Sipping Tea
 
Makes approximately 8 cups
Ingredients
  • 8 cups water
  • ½ cup cocoa nibs
  • 3 medium cinnamon sticks
  • ½ teaspoon cardamom seeds
  • ½ teaspoon culinary lavender
  • 2 whole star anise
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • ÂĽ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • Garnish: culinary lavender
Instructions
  1. In a small saucepan, combine 8 cups water, cocoa nibs, cinnamon sticks, cardamom seeds, lavender, and star anise. Bring to a boil over high heat; reduce heat, cover, and simmer over low heat for about 25 minutes.
  2. Stir in milk, sugar, and vanilla extract, stirring until sugar is dissolved, about 1 minute. Remove from heat. Strain mixture through a fine-mesh sieve into a pitcher; discard solids. Serve immediately. Garnish with culinary lavender, if desired.
